Blake – known to his friends as “Blue” is a magnificent looking boy who is full of life and incredibly inquisitive. He loves going for a walk, sleeps well through the night, loves to eat, happy to travel in the car and enjoys hanging out whatever you might be doing.

Blue enjoys two walks a day at the moment, even if the evening walk is just a quick 10 min walk around the block. This gives him the opportunity to have a good sniff, check out the wee mail and expel some of his energy. Although Blue is 5 years, from his temperament you would easily think he is a 3 year old. He gets along well with Greyhounds he meets although he will require further socialisation with other breeds to temper his enthusiastic greetings. Loud noises don’t faze Blue at all.

His favourite toy is a ball in whatever form – tennis balls, squashy balls, hard food dispensing balls, Kongs and bouncy balls, he loves to chase them, squish them and will even bring them back. He is also fond of soft and squeaky toys, carrying them around, batting them with his front paws and throwing them in the air. Blue enjoys a good zoom around the grass often late afternoon, after he has chased a ball around or been out for a good sniff, so his forever home will need some grass for him to zoom on.

Blue is a wonderful dog to have around as he's a fantastic companion and quite the character. He is happy to hang out while you watch TV or garden, but he is a sticky nose and likes to know where you are and what you are doing, so he may suit a busy household where someone is around a lot of the time, a part time worker or an active retiree. Currently he does very well left at home outside (alone) for 4-5 hour blocks several times a week and is fine - but is always super happy when you arrive home.

As Blue is a large boy and he will ideally require someone who has large dog experience and can show leadership. Blue is a smart boy, his new family will certainly be rewarded with a wonderful dog.

Blue easily sleeps through the night. He sleeps in his own bed in the dining/lounge room or in his foster carers room. Blue does not get on the couch or bed, but if he were allowed to, I am sure he would be very happy to do so. He is a smart hound and will benefit from ongoing training to bring him to his full potential.

Blue has not been introduced to children during his time in foster care, and due to his exuberant nature, kids over 10 years would be best.
