Donny is a gentle giant, and we mean giant! He's the biggest greyhound we've ever seen.

Donny is known to his friend's as Dognald and predictably has been absolutely lovely to all humans and large dogs that he’s met. Half the time Donny is uninterested in cats and small dogs. At other times he’s over excited and wants to run to them. So we suggest that he is not suitable to be in a household with either.

Being so massive, not much seems to bother Donny. He is great in noisy environments like walking along a busy road or train line. The vacuum or a blender can run within inches of him and he doesn’t bat an eyelid.

Donny’s pretty energetic, liking two walks a day; a quick 15-20 minutes in the morning, and a longer 30-45 mins in the afternoon. He’s got great stamina for a greyhound.

On leash Donny is predominantly light. However if he gets excited by a really interesting smell or sights a small dog or cat that excites him he can pull. A harness would suit him best.

Donny is very affectionate. He’s a big fan of pats and cuddles and can be very Velcro-ie. Having said that, Donny’s surprisingly good at hanging out on his bed if it’s in another room, with only the occasional zoom out to see where the action is. He does not like being left home alone, but we believe that with training he could be introduced to the concept.

Donny seems like he’d do okay in a single-dog environment. He just needs plenty of people cuddles. Ideally though we think that he’d thrive with a big-dog housemate to chill with.

Donny is sometimes a little bit bowl-over-you as he doesn’t know his size. While he’s always been gentle to people, we think that children taller than him might find him more manageable.

Donny looks longingly at all open boots is a good car traveller. Given his size a large hatchback//SUV//Semi-trailer or Road Train would probably suit best!
