This happy, playful boy is looking for someone to give all his love to!
Harri has the sweetest and most gentle nature. He is still fairly young and has lots of energy to spend zooming around the house, playing with all his toys and exploring the great big world on walks. He has great leash manners and has been learning to heel and wait to cross roads, as well as to wait for his meals. He is very trainable and loves to receive praise when he has done something correctly. He has also been good at learning certain boundaries in the home, such as not entering the kitchen. He can be a little cheeky at times, opening bins and snuffling into cupboards to find things to play with, but he has been learning about what counts as a toy and what doesn’t and making great progress. He can be very goofy and get into lots of shenanigans, making his foster family laugh every day by carrying his toys from room to room and trying to get his reflection to play with him.
Harri is great in the car and loves travelling to new places to explore, but sometimes need a bit of a boost into SUVs. Once his front paws are in though he will do the rest! He loves his foster sister, who is another greyhound, very much, always playing and zooming around with her and giving her kisses. He also seems to like dogs of all other breeds, although he can be very excitable when meeting other small dogs so he will benefit from further doggie socialization. He sleeps through the night with no issues and is good at letting his foster family know when he needs to be let outside.
Harri was a bit nervous when he first arrived in his foster home, but quickly got the lay of the land. He has been great at adjusting to new things like busy streets with trams and bath time, but can still be a little bit worried the first time he encounters new things or unfamiliar noises. However, showing him there is nothing to worry about with a quick pat and some praise makes him feel a lot more confident! Harri can be a little cautious around men he doesn’t know, but once he gets over this initial nervousness, he will warm right up to you.
Harri would love a dog friend to play and run around with, especially another young dog with some energy to burn. He would potentially suit being an only dog if his people were home a lot of the time, but he might just need some time to adjust when being left by himself. He has been left alone (with another dog) for around 6 hours with no issues, he is happy to nap, relax and entertain himself while waiting for his people to return.
Harri is a sweet, lovable, gentle and goofy boy who can’t wait to be your best friend. With some patience and kindness he will keep coming out of his shell and reward you with endless love and loyalty.
