- A family situation where people are home more often than not

Red is a sweet natured boy who just wants a human of his own to love and Velcro to! He may be 8, but he can zoom and play like a 3 year old!

In time we have fostered him, he has blossomed and turned into a sleek and well-muscled dog, a complete change from the poor condition he arrived in. Red gets along beautifully with our greyhound, Pippa. He has been fine with traffic, thunder and other loud noises. He is fairly unflappable!

On leash, Red is an absolute gentleman and will not pull at all. He has met other dogs and is keen to see them but will continue on after they pass. He does have a slight limp on his left leg, due to a nasty break in the past. Walking rather than trotting whilst on a walk is preferable, but it certainly doesn’t stop him from having a zoom when at home in our backyard!

He has met young children and is fine with them. He is not interested in horses, cows or even rabbits encountered on a walk. He enjoys the car and is quiet and well behaved.

He will happily follow you outside and around the house, making sure you aren’t out of sight. However, being left alone outside whilst Pippa and the family are inside doesn’t bother to him. He is quiet and well behaved. He is learning the commands ‘stand’ and ‘stay’, which he accomplishes quite well at the back door and at the gate before heading out for a walk.

Red LOVES his food and treats, especially a large brisket bone. He will eat anything offered.

Most of the time, when on his bed inside, he is upside down, roaching.

We would recommend a home where the owner is around most of the time, so Red can direct all his love to them as much as he wants. He would suit being an only dog. Although he would be fine with a female dog.

Red has so much love to give and just needs his very own human(s) to pour his love into. We hope his forever home will love having him as much as we have enjoyed having this very sweet and loving boy.

HEALTH: Red still has some minor after effects of a recent Facial Palsy episode, and currently requires one eye drop in his left eye at breakfast and bedtime, which he is fully compliant with. The need for these should stop once he is fully recovered.
