Time, Time, Time (and patience!)
Do you have time? And do you want unconditional love from the friendliest puppy? Would you like to mould a puppy in life? Have the patience to teach her the rights from wrong? If the answer is yes at all of the above, then Karli might be the girl for you.
Karli is learning how to behave in a home, where she lives very well with other Greyhounds and a medium sized dog. Karli needs more work getting to know/socialise with small dogs (and she is not cat-friendly). She is a very young 10 month old girl, and needs time, plenty of it.
She sleeps inside when I'm home and overnight, but spends her days outside while I'm at work, and has settled down a lot in the time she's been in foster care.
Karli does jump up on you with excitement and we are really working on this, but being a young dog, she isn't suitable for a home with young children or elderly people. She currently lives with two 7yo kids who are very experienced with dogs, and she overwhelms them with her exuberance! But does calm down very quickly.
Karli walks well on the lead and enjoys a walk and really needs good daily exercise to burn off her energy.
If Karli sounds like the girl for you, she will shower you with kisses and I mean shower you with them!!! She's so affectionate and loves a cuddle, she chases balls and loves playing with toys like most young kids. She has lots of energy and will require an owner who has the time and commitment to exercise her and provide her with training.
Karli at some point has damaged her left foreleg and now has a bowed leg from the wrist, which she copes very well with and it doesn’t slow her down! R2R vets have fitted Karli with a special wrist brace to support her carpal joint. This should be used only out on walks. A full report from Port Phillip Animal Hospital can be provided.
