Stanley is a lovely calm, friendly dog who luvs children and would fit easily into most families.
He loves being with you and he's 100% certain he's a lapdog. He's the ultimate smooch!
On the couch, in the car, under the desk, Stanley is never far from your side.

He is respectful and will get off furniture when asked, sleeping on his own bed as long as it's in a human's bedroom (in foster care he has been bunking with a teenager). He happily wears a coat at night, and is learning to enjoy being under a blanket. He jumps in and out of a small car without help, laying down once the car starts moving and waiting to be invited out - an absolute delight. He is also very calm being bathed, he doesn't love it, but he doesn't object.

Stanley has quickly mastered carpeted stairs in his foster home. He has attempted using a dog door, (his foster home has a whippet so the door is a touch small for Stanley) but he has used it a few times with encouragement. With the right sized door he will work it out quickly and enjoy having house and yard access. He has quickly learnt to go to the door when he wants to go out to toilet, sniff or play.

He enjoys a short daily walk, and will go for 2 short walks a day if asked, but doesn't insist. Stanley walks calmly on lead, with no more than a glance at other dogs, even little ones who bark at him. He also partakes in daily zoomies, with his Whippet foster brother, around the yard (or house), then sleeps for hours. Stanley seems to prefer balls over soft toys, but doesn't quite understand the bringing it back element of fetch just yet. He has 'collected' shoes (mainly his teenage room-mates shoes) when the humans go out and leave him home alone, but hasn't destroyed any at all. He is fostered in a home where he is alone school hours 3 days, and people coming and going in the evening with activities - often coming along for the car ride. He is fine with this provided he has had a morning walk or good zoom in the yard, but does stay much closer to you in the evenings on days he's been home alone, suggesting he would prefer to have people around more often than not.

Stanley has spent time in his foster mum's workplace, where he has welcomed pats from children 6 and up, and delighted a baby by thumping his tail on the ground to squeals of delight. His foster family have teenagers, and feel he would be happiest in a home with some children/teens of his own. Stanley genuinely lights up when kids are around and frequently goes to check on them. However, he is a big dog, who is unaware of his size, so school aged children would be most suitable. He would also be happy with an older family with grandchildren who visit often.

Stanley gets along well with his current Whippet house mate, but does prefer human company. The dogs eat side by side, drink from the same bowl together, and don't mind checking each other bowls for scraps. Stanley is very gentle when taking treats from your hand, including from children when he comes to work. He is just as respectful around human food, ensuring that you can see he is waiting, but only ever taking food when offered. He would live happily with another calm dog, but if given a choice would choose human (especially child/teen) over canine siblings in his forever home.
